The Committee for the Welfare of Prisoners (CWP) and the Legal Aid Society (LAS), in collaboration with the Sindh Judicial Academy (SJA), organized a Two-Day Capacity Building Workshop for Lawyers held in Karachi from 15th to 16th February 2022.
In the first batch, twenty lawyers associated with CWP from various districts of Sindh — including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Khairpur, Dadu, and Mirpurkhas — participated in the training.
Led by senior trainers from the Sindh Judicial Academy, the workshop covered a range of essential legal and professional topics, including:
- Principles of Forensic Reports and Their Interpretation
- The Art of Argument (Bail Applications)
- Qanoon-e-Shahadat, 1984
- Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act, 2018
- The Art of Argument on Main Cases
- Important Case Law
- Professional Ethics for Advocates
This initiative reflects CWP and LAS’s continued commitment to enhancing the legal capacity of practitioners serving vulnerable and marginalized communities across Sindh.
