LAO offers unpaid internships for students and others interested in gaining experience in the field of legal aid, prisoners rights, public interest litigation, learning about and building awareness of human rights in Pakistan, with a focus on Sindh. We welcome volunteers throughout the year but ideally we are interested in those who can make a commitment of a consecutive 3 month period and are above 16 years of age.
Interns can expect to work for our legal team or administrative staff. Work will include assisting advocates in case preparation, prison visits, interviewing prisoners, office visits outside of Karachi (if need be), implementation of external programs e.g. conferences, and communications related work within the office.
