A one-day workshop on “Interpersonal Skills and Conflict Resolution” was organized for juvenile prisoners in YOIS Hyderabad on 21st June 2021. This workshop aimed at identifying social persuasion techniques among youth to respond effectively to social influences to use of tobacco and other drugs.

The workshop also discussed the Juvenile Justice System Act 2018 as well as the specialized needs and vulnerabilities of the juvenile population. The workshop was attended by 24juveniles and 4 prison officials from YOIS Hyderabad. The specific objective of the workshop was to help participants better understand the concepts of anger management and conflict resolution techniques and strategies. They learned to identify and label challenging emotions such as frustration, anger or distress, including discover ways to effectively communicate anger and other negative feelings. The workshop covered various topics such as tracing common anger & frustration and understanding establish confidential, close and friendly relationships among other inmates. The lead trainer of the workshop was Mrs. Mahrukh Iftikhar (Consultant Clinical Psychologist) with the support of litigation manager, CWP-LAO Advocate Mr. Habib Jiskani.
