The Committee for the Welfare of Prisoners (CWP), in collaboration with the Sindh Prisons & Correction Service, successfully concluded a two-day capacity-building workshop at the Sindh Prisons Staff Training Institute, Hyderabad, on 18 & 19 December 2023.
Day 1 of the workshop focused on strengthening the administrative, operational, financial, and technical competencies of prison Superintendents across Sindh. Participants engaged in interactive sessions designed to enhance leadership, accountability, and efficiency within correctional facilities.
Day 2 provided a comprehensive overview of CWP’s mandate, program streams, and two decades of impact in advancing prisoner welfare, rehabilitation, and reintegration. The sessions highlighted key achievements and fostered meaningful dialogue on collaborative approaches to improve correctional systems.
The workshop concluded with a renewed commitment to building a more humane, rehabilitative, and rights-based prison management framework through sustained partnership between CWP and the Sindh Prisons & Correction Service.
